Dr. Charwin possesses the unique ability to utilize an engaging, comfortable personal style with sound theoretical therapeutic skills.  His ability to quickly establish a therapeutic alliance and rapport, especially with children and adolescents, creates a strong foundation for successful therapeutic outcomes.  His decades of experience enable him to quickly assess the stressors and dynamics of specific situations.  The treatment plan that follows is always pragmatic and clinically sound.  Dr. Charwin is also extremely ethical and caring, which communicates a combination of professionalism and warmth toward his patients.

Dr. Charwin has worked in the college counseling field for over twenty years.  He has lectured at state conferences on topics including using technology to search for the right school and finding the correct educational and career path.  He is also on the executive editorial staff of The ABC's of College Planning, the go-to guide for parents and students beginning the process.   Dr. Charwin has been the Director of Counseling at some of the finest some of the finest high schools in Somerset and Union Counties.  In this role, he has addressed thousands of parents and students on all topics related to the entire college process.  His student-centered approach attempts to decrease stress by helping each student succeed at finding their college match.  Dr. Charwin knows there is no one correct college, rather, many great matches!
